A racist version of Gigi D’Agostino’s party hit has made headlines. Now there was a trial in Austria surrounding the song.
A young man has been convicted in Austria for giving the Nazi salute and singing a racist version of the hit “L’Amour toujours”. The regional court in Wels found the 25-year-old guilty of violating the Nazi Prohibition Act and imposed a four-month suspended sentence.
Witnesses testified in the trial that the man and two other defendants sang “Foreigners Out” to the tune of Gigi D’Agostino’s song one night last July in Bad Ischl, shouted “Sieg Heil” and raised their arms as if in a Hitler salute The 25-year-old and a 19-year-old co-defendant confessed to the incident. The younger man was not convicted. Instead, the judge ordered him to take part in a tour of the former Mauthausen concentration camp. The 25-year-old also has to visit the concentration camp as part of his sentence. A teenager who was also accused was acquitted. The 16-year-old had denied right-wing extremist slogans or gestures.
