Six Israeli soldiers killed in Lebanon
Israel’s army is fighting in the south of the neighboring country to drive the Lebanese Hezbollah from the border. There are deaths in a shootout with members of the militia.
According to the Israeli army, six soldiers were killed in fighting in southern Lebanon. They died in a shootout with four Hezbollah members in a building, several Israeli media reported, citing an initial investigation by the army. According to reports, another soldier was injured in the incident.
According to the military, those killed were between 19 and 22 years old.
On an army memorial page for the fallen, the total number since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon was given as 792.
The current conflict between Israel and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah began more than a year ago with rocket attacks by the Lebanese militia in support of Hamas, against which Israel is waging war in the Gaza Strip. The trigger for this was the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023 in Israel.
