Donald Trump calls the USA an “occupied country” and wants to deport people on a large scale. He could even declare a state of emergency for this.
US President-elect Donald Trump also wants to use the military for mass deportations of migrants who have entered the country illegally. In a response to a corresponding post by a right-wing activist on the Truth Social platform he co-founded, the Republican wrote: “True!!!” The activist had reported that Trump’s government wanted to declare a state of emergency and then deploy the military.
Trump wants to make mass deportations a priority in his second term. “On day one I will launch the largest deportation program in American history,” he said a few days before the US election. The USA is an “occupied country,” he warned.
Trump wants to start with illegal immigrant criminals. The claim that the United States was being overrun by criminal migrants was a central plank of his campaign.
However, courts could possibly thwart or delay Trump’s plans for mass deportations. In addition, he would probably need the approval of the US Congress for larger and more expensive projects. There, Trump’s Republicans are expected to have a narrow majority in both chambers.
Trump (78) is scheduled to be sworn in for his second term as president on January 20th.
