It has been known since his first term in office that the future US President Trump watches a lot of Fox news channels. Now he has found his candidate for the office of transport minister there.
Donald Trump wants to bring the next TV presenter into government. Former Congressman Sean Duffy is set to take over as Transportation Secretary. Among other things, it should usher in “a golden era of travel,” according to the US President-elect’s announcement. The 53-year-old Duffy was a member of the US House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019 and is currently co-hosting a show on Fox Business.
Trump has been known as an avid viewer of Fox news networks for years. Last week he selected Fox News presenter and former soldier Pete Hegseth for the post of defense secretary. The nomination raised questions as political observers in Washington questioned Hegseth’s competence for the office. In addition, reports that Hegseth was involved in a sexual harassment investigation seven years ago raised doubts about his appointment.
Duffy has been one of the TV personalities who have represented Trump positions on Fox news networks in recent years. His wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, was Hegseth’s co-host on a Fox News weekend show.
