Russia continues the air war against Ukraine. A hypersonic missile and an intercontinental ballistic missile are fired from a safe distance, followed by cruise missiles.
Air raid and rocket alarms were sounded across the country in Ukraine early this morning. A Russian hypersonic missile of the “Kinshal” type hit the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Ukrinform agency reported. The missile was therefore fired by a Mig-31 fighter jet.
According to military governor Serhiy Lyssak, an industrial plant in the regional capital Dnipro was hit and two fires broke out in the city. Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov wrote that a center for people with disabilities was also damaged.
Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense later said that an intercontinental ballistic missile was also involved in the attack. It was fired from the Astrakhan region on the Caspian Sea. In addition to the hypersonic missile “Kinschal”, seven Ch-101 cruise missiles equipped with stealth technology were also used. These were fired by Tu-95 strategic bombers near the town of Engels in the Saratov region of southern Russia. Six Ch-101s were intercepted. “There were no significant consequences for the remaining missiles,” the anti-aircraft defense statement said. The information cannot be independently verified.
