Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg visited US President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida and had dinner with him there. Zuckerberg “has made it clear that he wants to support the national renewal of America under the leadership of President Trump,” said Stephen Miller, who will become Trump’s deputy chief of staff, in an interview with Fox News.
A spokesperson for Meta said Zuckerberg was “grateful for the invitation to dinner with President Trump and the opportunity to speak with members of his team about the incoming administration.”
Zuckerberg’s Facebook platform blocked Donald Trump
It was not immediately clear whether Trump ally Elon Musk was also at the meeting with Zuckerberg – the two tech billionaires have long had a more or less serious public rivalry with numerous swipes.
The 40-year-old Zuckerberg had recently tried to mend his relationship with Trump. The two have had a sometimes tense relationship over the years: The Internet platform Facebook, which belongs to Meta, was one of the networks that blocked Trump after the attacks on the US Capitol on January 6th.
