Poland is making another attempt to end the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine. Prime Minister Tusk wants to “hold discussions” about this this winter.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes peace talks to end the Russian war in Ukraine are possible this winter. “I will hold a series of discussions that will primarily concern the situation beyond our eastern border,” said the Prime Minister in Warsaw on Tuesday. Negotiations could begin in winter, “even if there are still question marks.”

Tusk announced the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Warsaw on Thursday. It will also cover Macron’s talks with US President-elect Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris last weekend.
Tusk emphasized that he is in constant contact with the Scandinavian and Baltic allies. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is also expected in Warsaw soon. “I really want Poland to be the country that is not only present, but sets the tone for these decisions that are intended to bring us security and protect Polish interests,” Tusk said.
Zelenskyj spoke out on Monday in favor of a diplomatic solution to the war. He thereby indicated Kiev’s growing openness to negotiations. But he doesn’t believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to end the war. The Kremlin said on Tuesday that the war would continue until Putin’s goals were achieved through military action or negotiations.
