The most beautiful, weirdest and worst traffic light moments

Chancellor Olaf Scholz asks the vote of confidence and officially winds up the traffic light coalition. A look back in pictures – to laugh, marvel and run away.
It’s just two boring sentences, pure formality and free of any sentimentality: “In accordance with Article 68 of the Basic Law, I submit a motion to express confidence in myself. I intend to make a statement on this before the vote on Monday, December 16, 2024 .”
Nevertheless, Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s lines mark the end of a previously unique experimental arrangement – the traffic light government – which failed after just three and a half years. In their former claim to want to be a “progressive coalition” for Germany. And their increasing differences over how to organize this progress.
Now Chancellor Scholz wants to clear the way to new elections with the written request for a vote of confidence, which he sent to Bundestag President Bärbel Bas last Wednesday. Because Scholz’s intention is to lose the vote of confidence in the Bundestag this Monday. You can see the moment in star-Follow live blog.
The traffic light broke when the FDP left on November 6th, and since then the Chancellor has no longer had a majority. It is therefore very likely that Scholz will be declared no-confidence and that Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will then dissolve the Bundestag.
