It is Israel’s fourth counterattack on targets in Yemen since the Gaza war broke out. There are deaths again.
According to official figures, at least three people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Yemen. A spokesman for the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Health told the German Press Agency that 17 people were also injured.
According to the Israeli army, the air force attacked Houthi militia infrastructure at the international airport in the capital Sanaa. Fighter jets also attacked areas in several ports, including Hudaydah, and two power plants in the country.
According to informed sources at the airport in Sanaa, a control tower, a departure hall and large parts of the runways were hit.
Eyewitnesses reported to dpa that the explosions could be felt throughout the city. The attacks occurred at the same time as a televised speech by militia leader Abdel-Malik al-Houthi. He did not directly address the attacks during his speech.
The Houthis, like Hamas in the Gaza Strip and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, are allied with Israel’s arch-enemy Iran. Israel had previously attacked Yemen several times.
