According to Ukrainian information, the soldiers sent by North Korea to Russia are already suffering heavy losses. Now one of them is said to have been taken prisoner for the first time.
According to reports, a soldier from North Korea fighting on the side of the Russian attackers was taken prisoner for the first time in the Ukraine war. The South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that the secret service in Seoul had confirmed the capture of a wounded North Korean. According to Ukrainian military information, Ukrainian special forces captured the man during operations in the Russian front-line region of Kursk. It was said that it was not stated when this happened.
North Korea sent around 10,000 North Korean soldiers to Russia to support Moscow in the fight against Ukraine. After a short period of training and being equipped with Russian weapons, the North Korean fighters were integrated into the Russian forces that have been fighting near Kursk for some time. More than 3,000 North Korean soldiers are said to have already been killed or wounded. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently made this estimate, which cannot be independently verified, after a meeting of the high command of the Ukrainian armed forces.
