Around 45 bombings a day claim many victims, including among civilians in the sealed-off coastal area. Israel’s military claims that it is acting precisely and sparing bystanders.
The Israeli army says it carried out more than 1,400 air strikes against targets in the Gaza Strip in December 2024 alone. The attacks were carried out by fighter jets, helicopters and drones. They were based on information provided by ground troops, the military said on its website. The targets included fighters and squads of the Islamist Hamas and its allies, tunnels, tunnel entrances, observation and sniper positions and weapons depots, it said.
According to this information, the Gaza Strip was subjected to around 45 Israeli airstrikes per day last December. Israel has come under international criticism because of the high number of victims among the Palestinian civilian population. Especially after air strikes, many civilian victims are often complained about, including women and children.
Since the Gaza war began on October 7, 2023, 45,553 Palestinians have been killed, according to Palestinian health authorities on Wednesday. The information makes no distinction between combatants and civilians. Israel claims that it is warning the civilian population of attacks and calling on them to leave the area of operation.
At the same time, it is taking extensive additional measures to keep the damage to the civilian population as low as possible. Neither side’s information can be independently verified. The war was triggered by the massacre by Hamas and other extremists from Gaza in Israel on October 7, 2023, in which 1,200 people were killed and 250 taken hostage.
