Melania Trump’s absence from the campaign fueled speculation about how often she will be seen in the White House. Now she reports on the preparations for the move.
Melania Trump says she is ready to return to the White House next week. “I’ve already packed, I’ve chosen the furniture that should go in,” the 54-year-old told Fox News. Donald Trump (78) will be sworn in as US President next Monday and will replace Joe Biden in the office.
The Trumps then move back to the White House. The team preparing the transfer of power only has five hours for the Bidens to move out and the Trumps to move in, said the future first lady.
Melania Trump was hardly visible during the election campaign. There was speculation that the former model would become more of a part-time first lady in the future and might not move back into the White House in January. When asked where she will spend the most time – in Washington, New York or in Palm Beach, Florida – Melania Trump said she will be in the White House when she has to be there, and the same applies to New York and Palm Beach.
As for son Barron (18), Melania Trump expressed the expectation that he would come to the White House for a visit. But he could do whatever he wanted. “I always respect his yeses and nos.” Barron is now studying at New York University.
