At the Capitol in Washington DC, Donald Trump will be sworn in and take office as the 47th President of the United States. The elaborate ceremony will be broadcast live.
On Monday, January 20, 2025, at 12 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time) and 6 p.m. German time, Donald Trump will take his oath of office as US President for the second time. Then, as in 2017, he will move into the White House. In the USA, the so-called “Inauguration Day” is traditionally accompanied by a formal ceremony.
Trump’s team has now announced details about the event. This also includes a list of musicians. Accordingly, the tenor Christopher Macchio will sing the national anthem of the United States at the ceremony at the Capitol. An old friend of Trump’s will also appear: country singer Lee Greenwood. His song “God Bless the USA” was something like the unofficial Trump anthem during the election campaign, which was always played when the 78-year-old took the stage.
