Many Germans are watching the swearing-in ceremony of Donald Trump live. Suddenly there is a breakdown at the Phoenix station.
During the broadcast of the Trump swearing-in broadcast, the Phoenix TV station made a mistake on the soundtrack. A simultaneous translator was reproducing a speech Trump gave to supporters after his inauguration when the words were suddenly heard: “Tell me, how long do you want to stay with this shit?” After a short break, the translation continued.
Statement during Donald Trump’s speech “does not reflect the broadcaster’s opinion”
The public broadcaster explained the situation in response to a dpa request: “Due to a technical glitch, the communication between the interpreter and the director was audible today. Of course, it does not reflect the broadcaster’s opinion.”
When the interpreter’s hat string bursts and he asks the only right question… #Trump

The broadcaster usually works with experienced freelance interpreters at major international events, as was the case in this case. “The colleagues have to work for hours at a very high level of concentration and translate simultaneously. This usually happens without errors, despite the great pressure,” it continued.
