CSU admits: The “party” election posters were stolen

An employee of the CSU state leadership removed the “party” election posters in front of the headquarters of the Christian Socialists in Munich. The CSU admitted this after initially stating that it had no knowledge of the incident. “An employee of the state management has now admitted that, on his own initiative, he removed two ‘party’ election posters that denigrate Friedrich Merz in front of the state management,” a CSU spokesman told the German Press Agency. “Even if the depiction on the election poster is indecent and low-class – we expressly disapprove of the removal of election posters.”

The employee apologizes and regrets his actions, the statement said. The posters are now back on the street. “Incidentally, we hope that in the future there will be similar interest in the CSU posters, which are unfortunately destroyed and stolen every day,” said the spokesman.

As the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” had previously reported, the chairman of the “party”, European Parliament member Martin Sonneborn, filed a criminal complaint after the election posters disappeared. Sonneborn wrote on Instagram that the posters that showed Friedrich Merz under the slogan “If you order Trump from Wish” were equipped with GPS trackers and that the trail led inside the CSU headquarters. “The report is out,” he wrote and spoke of a “politically motivated crime by the CSU against ‘The Party’.”
