Taboo breach, political earthquake, destructive action: The SPD once again tightens its allegations to the Union in front of the migration debate in the Bundestag.
SPD boss Saskia Essken accuses the Union of breaking a political taboo with the vote on migration policy. “Right -wing majority procurers must never be and the Democratic parties of the middle must never make themselves dependent on the enemies of democracy,” she emphasized shortly before the debate about tightening the migration rules in the Bundestag.
Union faction leader Friedrich Merz categorically rejected conversations and compromises under Democrats. “He has maneuvered himself in a dead end with his uncontrolled manner and I call on the CDU chairman to end this wrong path and to help shape politics from the middle of the parliament,” said Esken.
At the same time, the SPD leader accused the Union’s Chancellor’s candidate. Like three weeks ago, he promised that there would be no collaboration with the AfD under his chair. Now this promise no longer seems to apply. The CDU is thus radical and breaking the political culture of the country with a parliamentary tradition.
The SPD faction’s parliamentary managing director, Katja Mast, called the Union’s action a “political earthquake”. She accused Merz of preparing systematic cooperation with the AfD. “Friedrich Merz and the entire CDU/CSU act destructively.”
