29 of 41: The majority of the formally recognized parties ultimately also take part in the Bundestag election. However, some do not compete everywhere.
29 out of 41 parties take part in the Bundestag election on February 23. 12 of the formally recognized parties in mid -January will not be part of the vote, as the federal election manager in Wiesbaden announced. SPD, Greens, FDP, AfD, Left, Free Voters, Volt, Marxist-Leninist party in Germany, Alliance Germany and the Sahra Wagenknecht alliance are therefore represented in all 16 countries with state lists. The CDU competes in all federal states except Bavaria, the CSU only in Bavaria.
