More than 20 dead after attacks in Ukraine and Russia

A rocket hits a residential building in the Ukrainian Poltawa – and deletes an entire family. There is also a serious air strike in the Russian area of Kursk controlled by Kiev.

In the Russian attack war against Ukraine, more than 20 people were killed by new bombing and rocket attacks. After a rocket was hit in a residential building in PoltaWa in Central Luckraine, the number of dead rose to at least 14th among the dead, the civil protection said. An entire family was also wiped out there, said the head of the Presidential Administration in Kiev, Andrij Jermak.

In other parts of the country, people also died in Russian air strikes, including two in Sumy in the northeast and one in Charkiw in the east. There were also many injuries.

According to the General Staff in Kiev, at least four people died in the city of Sudscha in the Russian area of Kursk, controlled by Ukrainian troops, when a Russian sliding bomb fell in a school boarding school as emergency accommodation. Four other residents of the Russian area were violated, the condition of another 84 people was satisfactory. It was all about Russian civilians, including many older people, women and children.

Moscow and Kyiv blame each other

The Russian Ministry of Defense rejected the presentation from Kiev and said that the Ukrainian armed forces had targeted Sudscha from the neighboring Sumy with rockets. The building was hit by a Ukrainian rocket. Moscow accused Kyiv a “war crime”.

The investigative committee in Moscow led criminal proceedings against the commander of the rocket unit in Sumy named by name. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the international community to condemn the “terrorist act”. Ministry spokeswoman Maria Sacharova also said that the countries who delivered rockets to Ukraine were to blame. Moscow Human Rights Officer Tatjana Moskalkowa also turned to the United Nations and a number of European human rights organizations with the demand to condemn the attack on the boarding school in Sudscha.

The Ukrainian Air Force rejected the allegations and contradicted Moscow’s claims with sketches of the projectile trajectory, which had been taken in the building. From the impact angle, it could therefore only be a steering bomb that had been thrown off by an aircraft east of Sudscha. “The shooting of civilians with bombs is a trademark of Russian criminals, even if the civilians are locals, i.e. Russians, is,” says the explanation spread on Telegram.

The information from the warring parties cannot be checked by an independent side.

The Ukrainian troops marched in in the Russian area of Kursk in early August and since then have been checking dozens of towns, including Sudscha. Many Russians could not flee in time and are therefore still in the competitive city. Moscow’s military has repeatedly announced the reconquest of the Kursk area.

Selenskyj: Russia takes no consideration in their own civilians

The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj published a video after the air strike against the school boarding school in Sudscha on the platform X, in which a heavily damaged building and people in emergencies can be seen. The Russian army is also not considerate of its own civilians, he said. The country had lost every decency.

Selenskyj complained for another week with more than 1,400 Russian air strikes. “Every day, Russia attacks Ukraine with drones, rockets and sliding bombs,” he said, according to a message spread in his channel near Telegram. The country therefore needs more aircraft systems and rockets with a larger range.

On a video published, pictures of the past few days of death and destruction can be seen in the Ukrainian cities. In the old town of the Harbor metropolis Odessa, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, according to the authorities, 15 historical buildings were damaged in Russian rocket attacks.

Selenskyj demands punishment of Russia’s helpers

In a video address, Selenskyj again criticized that bypassing Russia sanctions could continue to produce its rockets, marching missiles and drones with components from other countries. Hundreds or even thousands of components come from EU countries, China and even America, he said.

At the same time, he called for punishments for those states that delivered Russia such components. “The violation of sanctions must be treated as a complicity in the war, and if you help to destroy life, you have to be held accountable,” he said.

Kiew’s army chief complains of violence against military personnel

However, the commander of the land forces, Mychajlo Drapatyj, complained about growing violence against military personnel in the country. “The killing of military members in the rear area is a red line,” said the Major General on Facebook. He reacted to the violent death of two military members alone on Saturday and asked the authorities to react and punish the perpetrators.

There was an explosion in a building of the district military replacement office in the Riwne area on Saturday, in which a person died and six others were injured. According to the authorities, a soldier of a wrapping point was shot in the Poltawa area on the same day.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian attack war for almost three years.
