US President Donald Trump tightens the course against the ICC. He imposes sanctions against his employees by decree. Some investigations do not fit him.
US President Donald Trump provides members of the International Criminal Court (ICC) with sanctions. The head of state signed a corresponding decree on Thursday, the US government said. Accordingly, entry bans are imposed against ICCHH members who are involved in investigations against US citizens or allies of the United States. The family members are also affected by the Visa embargo. There are also financial sanctions. The ICC, among others, investigates Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.
In November 2024, the ICC issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu due to alleged war crimes. Former Israeli Minister of Defense Joaw Gallant and the leading Hamas member Mohammed Diab Ibrahim al-Masri were also advertised by the court based in the Hague. Putin was advertised for searches in March 2023. The Court accuses him of being responsible for the deportation of Ukrainian children and the forced transfer of Ukrainians to the Russian Federation.
USA and Donald Trump against the International Court of Justice
The United States, like Israel and Russia, are not among the 125 states that bear the International Court of Justice. The court, which has been active since 2002, is responsible for genocide, crimes against humanity, crimes of aggression and war crimes. The contracting states of the International Criminal Court also include Germany, which theoretically would have to implement the arrest warrant against Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister should visit the Federal Republic.
