Conflicts: North Korea: Nuclear program is not a negotiation mass

According to the State North Korean news agency KCNA, the country’s nuclear program is not a negotiating mass, but serves the fight against enemy aggressors. “Our nuclear weapon arsenal is an unchangeable and practical weapon to quickly prevent any aggression through enemy forces that violate our sovereignty and the security of our population and threaten regional peace,” says a comment by KCNA. Just a few hours earlier, US President Donald Trump had confirmed at a meeting with the Japanese Premier Shigeru Ishiba in Washington that one would continue to adhere to the goal of “complete denuclearization of North Korea”, as it says in a joint statement.

During his first term as US President, Trump pursued an unconventional North Korea policy, which led from initial threats to direct diplomacy with Kim Jong Un. The two met three times: first in Singapore, then in Hanoi and finally in the demilitarized zone of Koreas in June 2019.
