The first square in TV history is available for the Bundestag election: Pinar Atalay and Günther Jauch receive the four candidates for the Chancellor of the most strongest parties according to surveys.
On February 9, the two candidates for Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and Friedrich Merz (CDU) competed in a first TV duel at ARD and ZDF.
The round will be expanded on February 16: On Sunday, the two Chancellor candidates of Greens and AfD will also join a square at RTL, NTV and star in addition.

Who moderates the square?
The program is moderated by Pinar Atalay and Günther Jauch. Afterwards, at 10:15 p.m., Frauke Ludowig will classify statements from the program together with experts and prominent guests on the show “Who was best?
Roberta Bieling and Nikolaus Blome take Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), Christian Lindner (FDP) and Gregor Gysi (Die Linke) into the cross -question.
What will the topics be?
Many topics currently employ the Germans. Much has been discussed in the past few weeks above all about migration and asylum and the economic situation in Germany. These topics are also likely to be discussed in the square. Gerhard Kohlenbach, editor -in -chief of politics & news at the broadcaster RTL: “After Aschaffenburg and the events of the past week in the Bundestag, many questions arise: Is the fire wall still? What becomes asylum law? Are the parties still capable of preventing Austrian conditions ? And who gets going on Germany’s economy? ”
But social and financial issues as well as the current wars and conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East could also be discussed.
What rules will there be in the quadrell?
This is not yet known. Typically, such formats ensure that the candidates receive about the same amount of speaking time. The moderators lead through the discussion and the subject complexes, ask questions or catches. As a rule, documents and aids may not be used or brought with them.
