Only right -wing East German men? Not quite. AfD voters in profile

Many probably have a fixed picture of the AfD voters in their heads. However, survey data show that this does not necessarily have to be right. And if you want Alice Weidel as a chancellor.
Up to a fifth of the Germans tend to vote in the Bundestag election on February 23 for the AfD right -wing extremists in parts – at least it shows a look at the latest surveys. Who exactly chooses AfD? The Forsa opinion research institute has evaluated structural data from respondents who have stated that they are AfD supporters.
The result: The majority of the AfD supporters therefore live not in the east, but in western Germany and outside of the big cities. Most followers are male, non -denominational and have pessimistic expectations regarding economic development in Germany. However, you do not attribute any party to economic competence. Remarkable: Only a little more than half of the AfD supporters indicate to be politically adjusted to be on the right. On the other hand, 43 percent classify themselves in the political center. If you want AfD candidate Alice Weidel as Chancellor
15 percent of the Forsa for the trend barometer in the chancellor's question recently stated to prefer Alice Weidel from all four candidates, including more men than women. In the east of Germany, a quarter would like to see Weidel as head of government, also in the age group between 30 and 44 years. In the case of workers, Alice Weidel found the greatest popularity among workers, followed by the self -employed. A little less than half of the politically right respondents stated that the AfD candidate for Chancellor preferred. You can find out the detailed results of the graphic below.

Note on the data: The data was from Forsa for RTL Germany collected as part of representative surveys.
What do the data show? The structural data of the first graphic only refer to respondents to support the information to support the AfD. The values of the individual categories therefore result in a total of 100 percent and thus an overall picture.
The data in the second graphic, on the other hand, are preference values for Alice Weidel. They show how great approval for the candidate within the individual groups.
