Five arrests in protest at the place of residence of Alice Weidel

A demo has been registered in the place of residence of Alice Weidel in Switzerland. But it is not only protested against the right in the 10,000 soul place. The police speak of a heated mood.

In the Swiss home of AfD Chancellor candidate Alice Weidel and her family, five people were temporarily arrested on the edge of a demonstration. The registered and approved protest in Einsiedeln in the canton of Schwyz was directed “against the right rate”.

However, counter -demonstrators were also found after calls on social media. The police reported “provocations and fighterness”. However, larger riots were prevented. The five arrested objects would have been banned or did not adhere to police instructions, it said. They were displayed.

Hundreds of demonstrators on both sides

The police, which was deployed with a large contingent, spoke of around 250 participants of the demonstration against the right and several hundred counter -demonstrators. There were no signs that Alice Weidel was on site. Weidel’s Swiss woman lives in the village with the two children who open up the couple. The AfD politician claims to spend part of her time on site. She also has a residence in Überlingen on Lake Constance, as she recently confirmed.

Einsiedeln around 45 kilometers south of Zurich has around 10,000 inhabitants. The place is famous for its more than 1,000 year old monastery, a Benedictine abbey. It is the most important place of pilgrimage in Switzerland.

Protest for “world with diversity” – but also for the AfD

“We are fighting for a world with diversity and without fascism,” said a speaker of “Alliance against Right” at a rally. Weidel runs a policy of social cold. “Weidel out” could be read on a poster. The counter -demonstrators boosted the participants and insulted them, as could be seen in videos. Some chanted supporters such as “AfD, AfD”.

Open letter to Alice Weidel

Before the demonstration, there was already a letter campaign with criticism of Weidel, as the land writer of Einsiedeln, Patrick Schönbächler, confirmed on request. An open letter has also arrived in the office. In it, Weidel was asked to leave the country – including a imitation flight ticket.

A similar campaign had also existed in Germany a few weeks ago: The flyers, reminiscent of flight tickets, had caused outrage nationwide in January. They were aimed at “illegal immigrants”. The AfD state association Baden-Württemberg had announced that it was an election campaign campaign by the Karlsruhe district association. According to the left, the flyers appeared in mailboxes of people with a migration background.
