Musk will take part in Trump’s cabinet meeting

Equipped with questionable powers, Elon Musk intervenes a number of authorities. Now the tech billionaire should sit at a table with Trump’s ministers.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump comes together with his entire cabinet for the first time-Tech billionaire Elon Musk is also invited to the meeting. “Elon – in view of the fact that he works with the president and our ministers – (…) will be present tomorrow,” confirmed the spokeswoman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, in Washington. Musk will talk about the Doge committee (Department of Government Efficiency) and how the ministries could “have waste, fraud and abuse in their respective authorities”.

Trump commands Musk to lower the government spending and apparently granted him far -reaching powers for measures – including controversial mass layoffs, the legality of which is unclear. With the Doge committee, the world, according to estimates, has had an impact on the work of numerous US authorities for weeks. However, contrary to the picture that Musk itself mainly maintains on his online platform X, his official role remains opaque in the committee. Doge and thus also Musks role now employ a federal court due to a lawsuit against the rabid procedure.

No clear answer to Doge management

When asked about the management of Doge, Leavitt did not want to give a clear answer. She explained that Musk “supervised” the committee, but was not officially entrusted with his leadership. On repeated demand, who then took responsibility, Leavitt finally replied: “I will not reveal the name of this person here on the podium.”

Musk had generously supported Trump financially in the election campaign. Originally, the Republican had defined the role of multi -illiarch as an external consultant outside the government. But this relationship changed quickly: Trump raised Musk shortly after his swearing-in to the “special government employee”-a status that is actually associated with strict restrictions and ethics rules.

Musk has extensive economic interests as CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and X. Critics fear that he has long since exceeded the border between private influence and official government responsibility – and that without complying with the prescribed regulations.
