China provokes military exercises again before Taiwan. In Australia, too, three Chinese warships have caused unrest for days. Are you accompanied by a nuclear submarine?
According to Taiwanish information, China has held shooting exercises off the coast of the island republic without warning. The Ministry of Defense in Taipeh condemned the campaign and accused the People’s Liberation Army of violating around 40 nautical miles southwestern off the coast of Taiwan against international standards. Taiwan disposed of armed forces to observe the situation, it said in a message.
The democratically ruled island nation had also found 32 Chinese military aircraft from various types around his area, as it was said. 22 of them would have flowned the center line in the meter between China and Taiwan (Taiwanstrasse) and had penetrated from various directions into the air defense zone – not to be confused with the airspace.
When asked about the exercise, China’s foreign office spokesman Lin Jian in Beijing said that this was not a diplomatic question. The Communist Party belongs to Taiwan to the China territory and wants to bind the island itself, if necessary also using the military, as it was always said from Beijing. The People’s Liberation Army practices around Taiwan almost every day.
Chinese warships also ahead of Australia
The exercise before Taiwan took place a few days after the Chinese Navy with warships in international waters before Australia trained shooting. The ships – a frigate, a cruiser and a supply ship – continue to provide discussions in Canberra. As the broadcaster ABC reported, according to military sources, a nuclear submarine is said to have at least temporarily accompanied the operational force. The neighboring country of New Zealand also follows the developments closely.
According to Air services Australia, almost 50 commercial flights had to change their course because of the shooting exercises. The head of the armed forces, Admiral David Johnston, said Beijing had not informed the Australian military about the exercises. Accordingly, the pilot had accidentally received radio sayings from the Chinese ships and informed the Australian authorities.
Johnston called China’s behavior “irresponsible”. After the ships were first spotted off the east coast of Australia, they were now about 250 kilometers south of the island of Tasmania.
