It is the first state election after the Bundestag election: Hamburg chooses its new citizenship, as the state parliament is called in the Free and Hanseatic City. Background: The number of seats per constituency depends on the number of voters living there. Election circles with 60,000 eligible residents receive three seats, 60,000 to 80,000 eligible voters mean four seats and constituencies with more than 80,000 eligible voters receive five seats in parliament.
