US President Trump and the Ukrainian President Selenskyj get into a dispute in front of the widely torn eyes of the world. How did the diplomatic Gau come about?
US President Donald Trump and the Ukrainian head of state Wolodymyr Selenskyj have delivered a historical exchange of blows in the White House – culminating in emotional outbreaks and finally the demolition of the meeting. The consequences of the scandal in front of running cameras are unforeseeable. How could such a diplomatic disaster come about?
Already when Selenskys greeted Selenskys, Trump tumbles over the typical clothing of the Ukrainian – well -known from three years of war and emphasizes in his introductory words that Selenskyj must be ready to compromise. For almost 40 minutes, everything goes reasonably well. Until Selenskyj asks the crucial question that Trump and his Vice President JD Vance obviously get completely in the wrong neck:
“I’m talking to my friends in Poland and you are concerned that you are too much on Putin’s side. What do you say?” Asks the Ukrainian. Trump replies that he could show hardness to Putin, but then a deal will never occur. Vance, who jumps aside to his president, manifests himself in a similar way.
A word battle is relaxed among the three. Vance becomes more aggressive: “Do you think it is respectful to come to the United States’s oval office and attack the administration that tries to prevent the destruction of your country?”
Selenskyj does not want to direct the conversation on a new topic, he does not give up – and indicates that the problems of the war are very well felt in Ukraine, but not yet in the United States because of the great distance. The collar then bursts: “Don’t tell us what we will feel! We try to solve a problem. You are not in the position to dictate what we will feel.”
Trump talks himself into rage and makes severe reservations to the President of the country attacked by Russia: “They risk millions of people. They risk a third World War.” After further back and forth the US President says: “You won’t win this here. You have a damn good chance of getting out of it.”
The conversation ends without a conciliatory final grade. The visit to Selenskyj in the White House, which was to take an important step towards peace in Ukraine, is finally canceled.
