Vatican: Francis without a new relapse

The worries are bigger again: on Friday the 88-year-old got into severe shortness of breath and had to be ventilated. The day afterwards runs until evening without new incidents.
According to official information, Pope Francis has no longer had any further relapse after his new severe attack. “The clinical condition of the Holy Father remained stable,” said the evening in a written notification of the Vatican from the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. The 88 -year -old head of the Catholic Church could feed itself and is also “always vigilant and oriented”.
Franziskus, who has been in the university clinic for more than two weeks, suffers from severe pneumonia on both sides. The day before, according to the Vatican, he had suffered bronchospasm in the afternoon after a few days: the muscles in the airways suddenly cramp. He no longer seemed to get air and had to hand over. He was then temporarily mechanically ventilated.

According to the Vatican, he no longer had a bronchospasm in the following 24 hours. In the meantime, however, he got additional oxygen via a mask on the mouth and nose and also physiotherapy for breathing aid. According to official information, he was not artificially ventilated. The Vatican said about the other prospects: “The forecast remains behavior.”
