Elon Musk made sure that around hundred thousand US federal employees were released. Now there is resistance. In several cities, demonstrators gathered in front of Tesla shops.
Before Tesla shops in the United States, there were protests against mass layoffs in the authorities by the government officer and entrepreneur Elon Musk. In a protest of hundreds of demonstrators in front of a Tesla dealership in New York, nine people were arrested, the police said on Saturday.
In other cities such as Jacksonville in the state of Florida and Tucson in Arizona, the electric car maker showed out showrooms. Demonstrators blocked the traffic and swiveled banners with inscriptions such as “burning a Tesla: saves democracy” and “no dictators in the USA”.
Elon Musk: 100,000 federal employees have already been released
The protests were directed against Tesla boss Musk, who, on behalf of President Donald Trump as a DE-FACTO head of a new Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), is making extensive cuts in the Federal Service.
The organizers of the nationwide protest campaign “Tesla Takedown” also called on selling Tesla shares. There were initially no statements from Tesla and the US Presidential Office. Since Trump took office on January 20, at least 100,000 of the 2.3 million federal employees have accepted severance payments in the United States or have been released.
