While Donald Trump speaks before the US Congress, some Democrats protest silently, others loudly. He insults a country – and his son comments on the Internet.
Anyone who looks at the scenes from the US Congress understands that Donald Trump makes more than just politics. Especially at the beginning of his speech, the mood in the hall is electrified, almost euphoric. The Republican MPs repeatedly call “USA, USA”, Trump is celebrated like a salvation. In the sanctuary of US democracy, it is once again evident that Trump is the founder of an ideology. The beliefs include “America First” and “Make America Great Again”. But the belief in the guru of the movement seems to be strongest: Donald Trump.
I have put together the most remarkable moments of the speech below.
Have a nice day – see you tomorrow!

Donald Trump with historical speech before US Congress
Donald Trump gave a speech before the Congress on the situation of the nation on Tuesday evening (local time in Germany; in Germany on Wednesday). Here is a summary of the most important announcements and the most bizarre moments:
- Trump begins with her own praise: “We have achieved more in 43 days than most governments in four or eight years – and we are just starting,” he says at the beginning of his explanations. His speech is accompanied by the “USA, USA” cheering calls of Republican congress members.
- After just a few minutes, the democratic MP Al Green is led out of the hall because of interjections. After Trump said that he received a mandate for profound change in the November election in November, Al Green interferes from the state of Texas: Trump has no mandate, he calls repeated – and is finally escorted from the meeting room. Green later emphasized that he had related that Trump had no mandate for cuts in the US health system Medicaid. “It is worthwhile to let people know that there are some people who will stand up to Trump,” he says to journalists afterwards.
- Trump complains that no achievement from him can make the Democrats “smile or applaud”. This would apply even if he heals the worst illness in the world or crime to lower the lowest level of all time, he complains. “It’s very sad and that shouldn’t be that way.”
- Some democrats keep signs with slogans like “Musk Steals“(Dt.:” Musk steals “) high. Tesla boss Elon Musk has been commissioned by Trump with a controversial reduction program at the federal level. He lives in the speech in the Congress Chamber. Other MPs also hold signs in the air in which” False “(German”) is.
- Several Democrats of the House of Representatives get up, turn Trump’s back and show their shirts, on the back “Resist“(Dt.:” Resist “).
- Trump asks the congress of a defense sign against rockets for the United States with the name “Golden Dome“(German” Golden Dome “).
- “Nobody ever has from Lesotho heard, “says Trump and thus continues a well-known motif of Trump’s rhetoric: the insult to low-income countries. Lesotho has 2.3 million inhabitants, is somewhat larger than the US state of New Mexico and is more populous than 13 US states, as noted. Trump gave the country in southern Africa as an example of the alleged wasting on the previous aids abroad. Lesotho received eight million dollars that were paid to support LGBTQ+programs.
- When Trump says “the days of the rule of unstained bureaucrats are over!”, Some Democrats only point to Elon Musk.
- Trump praises Elon Musk’s savings efforts. As a result, the American taxpayer has saved $ 105 billion in the past six weeks. According to an analysis by the Reuters news agency, this number cannot be verified: The only available data comes from Musk’s Department for Government Efficiency (Doge) itself. In the past two weeks, however, several previous entries for savings from their website have been deleted.
- The US President claims that “almost all” people who crossed the border, murderer, drug dealers, gang members and mentally ill during the bid years-were an assertion for which there is no evidence.
- Trump announces the construction of a “Gigantic” gas pipeline in Alaska. It will be among the largest in the world, says the Republican. He also wanted to take historical measures this week to break down rare earths and to dramatically expand critical minerals in the United States.
- Donald Trump Jr., who sits in the stands while his father keeps the speech, comments on Donald Trump’s speech on the platform X. He describes the Democrats almost exclusively as “Crying“,” basically full -fledged communists “and” one embarrassment“.
- Trump repeats with laughter in the plenary hall that he wants to claim Greenland.
- The US President says he would like to estimate that the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj was ready for talks about peace. Trump claims that Russia is also open to it. It is Trump’s first sign that he is willing to reconcile with the government in Kiev after he took Zelenskyj out of the White House after an explosive meeting in the Oval Office on Friday.
- According to Donald Trump, his Ukrainian counterpart Wolodymyr Selenskyj is ready to sign a raw material agreement. Trump relies on a letter from Selenskyj.
Politics podcast: the ESK problem of the SPD
Saskia Esken is considered the face of the SPD crisis, some as a real failure. Is that fair? The star-Politik bosses Veit Medick and Jan Rosenkranz discuss a special case.
Anton Hofreiter divides into Markus Lanz
Bavarian green politician Anton Hofreiter is no one who prints around. On the contrary: when Hofreiter starts, mostly pithy statements come out. So also on Tuesday evening on the talk show by Markus Lanz, where he accuses Friedrich Merz of the lie.
What else is important today
- The Rio carnival is the biggest party in the world, the city administration expects a total of six million people in the city. Tens of thousands in the stands and in lodges as well as millions in front of the television in Brazil and usually pursue the moves on the oversized catwalk worldwide. In addition, hundreds of so -called blocos – i.e. carnival groups – will move through the streets of the metropolis.
- In the round of 16 of the Champions League Bavaria Munich meets Bayer Leverkusen at 9 p.m.
