Once again, Russia has taken neighboring Ukraine under heavy fire. Drones and rockets flew to a number of regions. The aim is to destroy the energy supply.
Russia took neighboring Ukraine during the night and the early morning hours under heavy shelling with rockets and drones – and in particular attacked energy systems. The electricity and gas infrastructure of several regions had been hit, said energy minister Herman Haluschtschenko on Facebook. “Wherever possible, rescuers and electricians work on eliminating the consequences.”
According to the air defense, ships of the Kalibr type of steering weapons started in the Black Sea were also used. According to at least five injuries, there were official information in the eastern Ukrainian city of Charkiw after a rocket impact. An infrastructure object and a nearby residential building were met, Mayor Ihor Terechow said on Telegram. Under the rubble of the partially collapsed house, other victims are searched for. Six people have been saved so far.
An impact is also reported from the West Ukrainian region of Ternopil. There are problems with the gas supply after a hit. However, there were no deaths and injuries in that case, wrote military governor Wjatscheslaw Nehoda.
Russia systematically attacks Ukraine’s energy supply systematically in its now more than three years. More than half of the capacities for electricity generation have already been destroyed.
