Karoline Leavitt smiles very friendly from the speaker when she reads the levites in the White House at the end of January. At the age of 27, Donald Trump’s new press spokeswoman was the youngest in America’s history. But she quickly makes it clear that you shouldn’t be underestimated.
“The White House firmly believes in the first constitutional additive,” Leavitt begins her first press conference with a reference to freedom of expression and press. “But” she continues, lets her look wander through the packed space, “we know that many traditional media in this country have spread lies about the president and his family, and we will not accept that.”
An attack on the freedom of the press begins, as the United States have not seen it since Richard Nixon’s Watergate scandal in the 1970s.
