The designated successor to the Canadian head of government Justin Trudeau, Mark Carney, takes over the Prime Minister Office on Friday. Carney, together with his cabinet on Friday, will be swearing in as Canada’s next prime minister, as the general governor Mary Simon’s office announced on Wednesday (local time).
The 59-year-old newcomer had been elected to the successor to Justin Trudeau as party leader on Sunday by the ruling liberal party and was later also elected as prime minister.

Mark Carney shows willingness to talk to Donald Trump
Until recently, Carney had worked as a UN special envelope for the financing of climate protection measures. Politically, however, he is considered a newcomer, and he has never been elected to an office before.
In his election campaign for the party chairmanship, Carney had promised to bring the “economy back on course” and in particular to offer US President Donald Trump’s forehead. On Wednesday, Carney had a willingness to talk to US President Trump.
