Armin Laschet is often confused with Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. This leads to curious situations.
There is a certain similarity: the former CDU boss Armin Laschet is constantly confused with Defense Minister Boris Pistorius from the SPD. He lives in Berlin on the same street as Pistorius and “always drive the e-scooter to the Bundestag in the morning”, said Laschet in a podcast of the Funke media group on Thursday. That then led to a “giant uprising in the ministry” because the police complained.
The officials had called Pistorius’ Ministry to say: “The minister cannot drive through the area with the e-scooter-and it was not at all, but I was,” said Laschet.
Armin Laschet: “I’m not your minister”
Something like that “happens”, “the former Union Chancellor candidate added. At the Munich Security Conference, a soldier said “Good morning, Minister” before the elevator. He replied: “I’m not her minister.”
He once jokingly said to Pistorius, at some point he got into the minor car Minister, “and then we’re going to go,” said Laschet. Pistorius was able to laugh about it.
When he was still the prime minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, it was the other way around, said Laschet. Pistorius was asked: “Can we make a selfie, Mr. Laschet?” Today, however, Pistorius is “in many ways”.
