Angela Merkel was emotionally adopted by the EU colleagues at the end of her term. At Olaf Scholz, however, things look very different. What else is important today.
Love Readers,
With the whole hickhack for the debt brake and the question of when and whether the Union and the SPD can now coalize, you quickly forget that Germany still has a Chancellor: Olaf Scholz. It has become extremely quiet around the new elections, he has mutated into a classic “Lame Duck”.
Some farewells will come to the still chancellor in the future. He has now broken the first one in Hanseatic: at the end of one EU-Summit in Brussels.
Also important: Germany Has won another international match in Italy.
Have a nice day and a nice one weekend!

Olaf Scholz shows understatement in Brussels
Nobody would have expected that Olaf Scholz would become emotional when saying goodbye. He didn’t get it either. On Thursday evening he took part in his last regular EU summit in Brussels. At a press conference, he got time for a little personal farewell greeting. Scholz opted for a simple “bye”.
Before that, he was allowed to take a balance sheet in Europe. He “learned a lot about political conditions in other countries,” said the Chancellor. That helps to “always stay relaxed with everything that can meet yourself”.
When Scholz ‘predecessor was adopted in Brussels after 16 years, it was much more pompom – an admittedly unfair comparison. Merkel was in office for 16 years and took part in 106 EU peaks. Scholz could not leave such a footprint.
Leon Goretzka is back and gives the DFB a victory
Football can be incredibly cheesy. In front of the European Championship last year, Julian Nagelsmann Leon Goretzka had removed from the squad. You didn’t really know why. It was whispered that it was due to the character of the midfielder in the service of FC Bayern Munich. As a result, Goretzka’s performance collapsed, he never really looked happy in public. Now he has made it back into the DFB squad-and how.
EU wants to upgrade massively by 2030
Olaf Scholz ‘Farewell to Brussels should be less remembered than the EU’s plan to upgrade until 2030 and thus be prepared for a possible attack by Russia. It will be an extremely expensive project.
: Handy ban at schools – a Pro & Contra
Hessen wants to prohibit schoolchildren using their cell phones at school. There are a couple for international role models for this plan. But how sensible is that? Our political bosses in the current issue of our podcast “5-minute talk” speak about this.
Til Schweiger is looking for friends via dating app
The dating app “Raya” is primarily reserved for rich and celebrities, whoever wants to be there is a strict selection process. The actor and director Til Schweiger did it, he is there. But he obviously does not seek great love there.
What is still important today:
- The Federal Council decides on the amendment to the Basic Law for the financial package of the SPD and Union
- Today is world-down syndrome day
- Expected judgment in the trial against three young people from NRW because of planned terrorist attacks
- Selena Gomez’s new album “I Said I love you first”
