Coalition negotiations
Union and SPD initially negotiate in small groups
First big rounds, then specialist teams, in the end, the party leader may have to clarify the big questions among themselves: there is no end in sight in the coalition negotiations.
Representatives of the Union and the SPD initially negotiate in small groups about the formation of a common coalition. Several top politicians came together at the CDU headquarters in Berlin, the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus. Among other things, the subgroups should clarify questions about finance.
Most recently, progress has been made here, said Saarland Prime Minister Anke Rehlinger (SPD). “It’s going well.” At the same time, however, there are still many questions to clarify. The greatest sticking points are the questions where to be saved, tax and economic policy and ways to contain irregular migration.
In the evening, the party leaders of the CDU, CSU and SPD could again switch on the negotiations and speak to those responsible from the small groups.
