In the Bundestag election, the Union, led by Friedrich Merz, achieved first place. A different picture now emerges in a survey.
The AfD overtakes the Union for the first time in an IPSOS survey.
A good six weeks after the Bundestag election, the party comes to 25 percent in the Sunday question of the opinion research institute. The Union is just 24 percent in the survey. It loses several points compared to its result in the Bundestag election on February 23 (28.5 percent). The AfD, on the other hand, gains clearly (election result: 20.8). In Ipsos, the SPD has 15 percent (16.4), the Greens to 11 percent (11.6) as well as the left (8.8).
For the survey representative, according to the institute, 1,000 citizens were interviewed on and April 4 and April 5. According to IPSOS, the maximum statistical fault tolerance is between 1.4 and 3.1 percentage points.
Other surveys show the AfD on par or just behind the Union
In a survey by the Insa opinion research institute for the “Bild” newspaper from the weekend, the AfD was for the first time with the Union (both 24 percent each). The AfD was just behind the Union in the “trend barometer” of RTL and NTV from Tuesday. CDU and CSU are currently on the basis of the SPD. They had recently significantly lost voters in the consent of the voters.
Election surveys are generally always affected with uncertainties. Among other things, waning party bindings and more and more short -term election decisions make it more difficult for opinion research institutes the weighting of the data collected. Basically, surveys only reflect the opinion at the time of the survey and are not forecasts on the election outcome.
