We are talking about a “significant contribution to consolidation”: Union and SPD want to save, but first don’t say exactly how.
Union and SPD want to save significantly in the next four years – also with funding programs and contributions for international organizations. As can be seen from the coalition agreement, a total of one billion euros should be saved in the funding programs in the federal budget. What programs this should affect is not determined.
In addition, eight percent of the jobs in the federal administration are to be dismantled in four years – with one exception for security authorities. There should only be half as many federal commissioners. Expenses for external consultants are to be reduced in all ministries.
Voluntary contributions to international organizations are to be reduced. By 2029, with the exception of security authorities, administrative expenditure should shrink by ten percent in all ministries.
