Tesla stops delivery of two luxury models in China
After Chinese counter -tariffs, Tesla stops the order option of his two more expensive models in China. However, they only have a small proportion of Elon Musk’s corporate business.
The trade conflict, unleashed by US President Donald Trump, hits the carmaker Tesla, which is led by his supporter Elon Musk. The models S and X introduced from the USA can no longer be ordered on the Chinese Tesla website. After Trump increased the tariffs on imports from China to a total of 145 percent, the government in Beijing countered with a 125 percent dial.
Tesla models S and X play economically low role
The two more expensive vehicles play only a small role for Tesla. According to calculations by market researchers, the group in China only dropped around 2,000 cars of the S and X models last year. Of the model series 3 and y produced in Shanghai, more than 660,000 were sold in China. With the larger vehicles, however, Tesla plays in the more prestigious and more lucrative luxury segment. The group does not respond to an inquiry and duration of the order stop.
According to US media reports, Musk is said to have tried to persuade Trump at a more moderate course in the import duties. After a harsh reaction of the stock exchanges and financial markets to the customs circuit, Trump exposed the most additional duties for three months-but continued to screw it up for China.
