From Tuesday, the SPD members coordinate the coalition agreement. Party leader Klingbeil stirs the drum – and warns of old behavior patterns.
SPD boss Lars Klingbeil advertises approval for a black and red federal government before the start of the SPD membership vote. “This also includes a Chancellor Friedrich Merz – and I trust him that he will lead our country well in these difficult times,” said Klingbeil in the ARD program “Report from Berlin”. From Tuesday, all 358,000 SPD members can vote on the coalition agreement by April 29.
The Union and the SPD could get a stable government, emphasized Klingbeil. This is particularly important in view of the international turbulence. There were too much arguments in the traffic light government. “We have to do better: less public dispute, more cohesion, put together similarities in the foreground and see how we make this country strong,” emphasized Klingbeil.
