Merz cabinet takes shape-the first personal details seep through
Germany will probably get a foreign minister from the CDU after decades. Other names of designated cabinet members of Friedrich Merz are also in circulation.
The CDU politician Johann WadePhul is based on information from star and NTV Foreign Minister in the government under Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The Schleswig-Holstein Minister of Education Karin Prien takes over the new educational department in the federal government. Both CDU politicians have been traded as promising candidates for weeks. The energy manager and former CDU MP Katherina Reiche is also said to become Minister of Economic Affairs.

WadePhul probably the first CDU foreign minister for decades
The specialist politician WADEPHUL from Schleswig-Holstein would be the first CDU foreign minister for almost 60 years. The former North Rhine-Westphalia Prime Minister Armin Laschet was also speculated. Prien also belonged to the CDU coalition negotiation team. According to the coalition agreement, the CDU provides seven of the 17 ministers, as well as the SPD. There are three departments on the CSU. In addition to the outdoor and education department, the CDU occupies the Ministry of Economic, Health and Transport, as well as the newly created department for digitization and state modernization, according to the coalition agreement. SPD distributes ministerial posts later than the CDU
