The CDU is the second of the three government parties in SPE to approved the coalition agreement. The party leadership gives a clear signal.
The CDU leadership has spoken out for the acceptance of the union and SPD coalition agreement. At a meeting in Berlin, the federal board unanimously recommended approval at the small party congress of the CDU in the afternoon, according to the participants.
After a U-turn of CDU boss Friedrich Merz in the coalition negotiations, for example in the debt brake, it is eagerly awaited how high the approval of the approximately 150 delegates is. Despite criticism from the young Union, for example, it is considered to be excluded that the delegates reject the coalition agreement.
As the first of the three parties involved, the CSU unanimously approved the coalition agreement, by board decision. At the SPD, members can vote on this until April 29. The choice of Merz to Chancellor is planned for May 6th.
