Trump has already converted an app with which appointments for asylum applications could be booked – now it is used for so -called self -deprivation. Now Trump wants to make the whole thing even more attractive.
The US government under President Donald Trump wants to illegally immigrated migrants $ 1,000 (around 882 euros) if they voluntarily leave the country. The Ministry of Homeland protective announced that everyone who uses the “self -deportation” function via a corresponding app. As soon as the app confirms the arrival in the home country, the money will be paid out. The US government also pays costs to finance the departure.
Trump has been a tough course in migration since taking office. Migrants, under the government of Trump’s predecessor Joe Biden, were able to make appointments from Mexico from Mexico for their asylum applications on US border crossings. Under Trump, the app was completely converted for deportations and renamed CBP Home. People who live illegally in the United States can now use the app to communicate that they want to leave.
Minister Noem advertises for app
According to the Ministry of Homeland Protection, the average costs for arresting, detention and deportation of an illegally immigrated migrant amount to $ 17,121 (around 15,110 euros). Anyone who provides their intention to leave the voluntary departure on the app would be excluded from detention, it said. However, one has to prove that one takes “meaningful steps to complete the departure”.
“If you are illegally here, the switch -off is the best, safest and most cost -effective way of leaving the United States and avoiding a arrest,” said Minister of Homeland Protection Kristi NoEM for the program.
