Theo Reinhardt from Berlin won the next German medal at the European Track Cycling Championships with silver.
The 31-year-old European champion in the two-man team took second place in the elimination round. Only the Italian Tour de France stage winner and professional of the Ineos Grenadiers racing team, Elia Viviani, was better than Reinhardt. Third was the Belgian Jules Hesters. In elimination driving, the last person in the field has to leave the race every two laps.
Thanks to Reinhardt’s second place, the Federation of German Cyclists (BDR) won five gold and three silver medals after three days of deciding on the wooden oval.
