There was a lot of speculation about the exact degree of Novak Djokovic’s injury during his title at the Australian Open. Critics even said that the Serb was only pretending to be in pain and accused him of unsportsmanlike behavior.
Craig Tiley, director of the Australian Open, now revealed the extent of the injury to “SEN Sportsday”: “He has a tear of three centimeters in his thigh.” The doctors would confirm this.
The 35-year-old had nevertheless secured his tenth title in Melbourne. According to Tiley, this is remarkable given the injury.
