What OÖN readers have known for a long time has been certain since Monday: Upper Austrian division ATSV Stadl-Paura – bankruptcy proceedings are currently underway against the club – will no longer play games with the fighting team in the spring. That was decided by the club and the Gmunden lawyer Günther Eybl, who was appointed as insolvency administrator.
The Upper Austrian football association has already been informed – in the coming hours, the upper Austrian leagues will also be informed about the consequences of the Stadl-Paura withdrawal by means of a letter.
Dropping out during the championship not only entails a penalty of 5,000 euros: all games – both those already played and the planned spring games – are canceled and taken out of the ranking.
The club is ranked last and is the first to be relegated. For the ATSV, however, it is not in the state league, but directly in the 2nd class due to the withdrawal. It is still unclear whether the club will dare to start again in the last division next season with a new group of officials. However, it is not yet clear whether the club will no longer compete in the youth field in spring. There is a willingness to do so, but there should not be any additional costs.
