In the final round, Jarl Magnus Riiber secured gold for Norway ahead of Germany and Austria. Germany lodged a protest against the rating, according to the DSV interpretation, Riiber Schmid did not cut a curve in accordance with the rules. The outcome of the protest was initially unclear.

“I felt like I was fighting something with blunt weapons,” Lamparter alluded to the material to ORF. In the sprint and in mixed you had really fast skis, this time it was different. “I tried to do it from the beginning,” Lamparter continued, “because I knew I wouldn’t decide it in the sprint.
