Schmidhofer said goodbye to active top-class sport with a green cap, Styrian jacket and lederhosen as well as a few stopovers and hugs with companions. “That was a lot of fun. It was a very special feeling, that’s something special. A really cool ending! I’ll miss the girls the most. I won’t miss the pressure of having to deliver at the races,” said the ÖSV lady at the finish.
The greatest successes in the 16-year career of the 34-year-old Styrian were the world championship title in Super-G in 2017 and winning the ball in the downhill (2018/19). She finished on the podium twelve times in the World Cup.
