Ex-Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann shouldn’t remain unemployed for long: the 35-year-old coach is being traded by Tottenham Hotspur after Italian Antonio Conte had to leave.
FC Bayern is not the only major European club that has just fired its coach. The Tottenham Hotspurs from London have also thrown out the trainer and are now looking for a successor for the Italian Antonio Conte. Before Bayern grabbed Thomas Tuchel, he was also under discussion at Spurs. So it only seems logical that Julian Nagelsmann is now a candidate for the English club with superstar Harry Kane. At least that’s what the British media are reporting.
Tottenham announced their immediate separation from the Italian on Sunday. A step that had long been expected after Conte’s angry speech after the 3: 3 at bottom FC Southampton a week earlier. The former Chelsea FC manager had described his players as “selfish” and accused them of not being able to play under pressure. This also has something to do with the history of the club, which had only won the League Cup once since 1991 (2008).

Interim solution until the summer break
Conte’s assistant coach Cristian Stellini will take over the coaching job until the end of the season. Fourth in the table, the Spurs are still fighting for a place in the Champions League. In addition to Nagelsmann, other prominent names are traded, especially Mauricio Pochettino enjoys an excellent reputation at Tottenham. The Argentine coached the club between 2014 and 2019, leading them to the Champions League final, among other things. Pochettino would currently be available immediately.
Again and again the name of Frankfurt’s Oliver Glasner is mentioned. The Austrian enjoys an excellent reputation after winning the Europa League last year, and there was also a clash between Spurs and Eintracht in the Champions League preliminary round. Glasner still has a contract in Frankfurt until 2024 and has recently been very dissatisfied with the performance of his team. Another candidate in Tottenham is said to be Luis Enrique, who quit as national coach after the disappointing World Cup with Spain.
Club boss Levy also has another problem to solve. Goalscorer and club icon Hary Kane’s contract expires in 2024. The striker is associated with record champions Manchester United, and FC Bayern is also being traded as a possible new club.
