“We analyzed the defeat against St. Magdalena well within the team and that’s over,” says Bad Leonfelden’s sporting director Dominik Mach. The autumn champions of the Landesliga Ost are already concentrating on today’s Mühlviertel duel at 7:30 p.m. in Schwertberg. “We want to show a different face and make our fans happy again,” says Mach. With only three points from the first three games, the start of the second half of the season didn’t go as planned, the lead in the table is gone. Nevertheless, Mach remains positive: “Everything is still possible, the league is so balanced that it will remain exciting until the end.”
Rohrbach-Berg, another Mühlviertel team, is now enthroned at the top of the Landesliga Ost. The Rohrbachers will welcome the tail light St. Magdalena tomorrow, but will certainly not underestimate their opponents. “Anyone can beat anyone in this league, we’ve been warned,” says Rohrbach’s coach Christian Eisschiel.
The fans will get to see an exciting local duel tomorrow (kick-off 6 p.m.) in St. Oswald near Freistadt when SV Freistädter Bier comes to St. Oswald for the derby. The two teams are separated by just one point in the North Regional League table. Freistadt are third in the table, the home team is one rank behind – a real top game. At the meeting in autumn, St. Oswald’s kickers managed the big surprise and defeated the favorite Freistadt 2-0. Of course, the people of Freistadt want to take revenge for that. The people from Gallneukirch don’t have far to go tomorrow either when they drive to the sovereign leader in Katsdorf.
In the Upper Austrian league, St. Martin is again number one in the Mühlviertel after the comeback victory against St. Valentin. Coach Stefan Hartl’s team got off to a good start and is playing away to Mondsee today. The SPG Pregarten is playing in Micheldorf tomorrow. The Union Perg hopes to gain points in St. Valentin.
